I’ve always believed that where we start doesn’t determine where we finish, and my story is proof of that. My mom and I began with very humble beginnings, facing financial hardships that felt impossible to overcome. But my mom’s determination and faith carried us through. When she found her career, she was able to send me to a high school that not only opened doors for me but also deepened my relationship with God. My parents invested everything in me, and their example instilled a work ethic and discipline that I carry to this day.
Balance is something I’ve learned to prioritize in my life. It’s easy to obsess over chasing low scores or a perfect GPA, but I’ve realized that when I neglect prayer and my relationship with God, everything feels off. Golf, school, and life challenges constantly lead me back to him. Even the process of writing this resume, sending countless emails to coaches, and facing rejection has been a lesson in faith. I trust that the right opportunity will come because God has always guided me, even when life felt overwhelming.
That mindset helped me create and publish my first children’s book, “I Love Golf When,” to inspire kids to try the sport I love. Golf is often seen as frustrating, but I wanted to highlight the joy and milestones it brings. I didn’t stop there—I researched publishing, started my own company, designed my website, and marketed my book. It taught me that age isn’t a barrier. In fact, being young gives me an edge in understanding the next generation.
Beyond my book, I’m working on starting the first authentic Filipino café in Indianapolis. This café is more than a business; it’s a way to preserve family memories through food and share Filipino culture with the community. It’s also a tribute to the loved ones we’ve lost—food has a way of connecting us to the past in a powerful way.
In golf, my goals are just as ambitious. I came close to scoring under par this season and had some incredible moments. I shot even par on a course that terrified me last year, and I learned how to turn a frustrating round into a strong finish by trusting my process. Golf has taught me that I’m in control of how I respond to challenges. If I will it and work for it, it can happen.
Ultimately, my biggest goal is to use every opportunity God gives me to grow as a golfer, a student, and a person. I dream of playing on the LPGA and becoming a doctor, knowing that nothing is impossible with faith and hard work. My parents, especially my mom, have sacrificed so much to give me this chance. She escaped an unhealthy relationship and built a new life for us when we had nothing. Her strength inspires me daily, and I want to honor that by living without limits and helping others see their potential.
I don’t know exactly what my future holds, but I know I’m dedicated to making the most of every opportunity. I hope to show kids—especially those from tough situations—that their story doesn’t have to end where it started. I’m praying for a college that will help me strengthen my faith, grow as a golfer, and prepare me to serve others through healthcare. I may not know everything yet, but one thing’s for sure: you won’t find a more driven or committed player than me.
